Milky Way over the hilltop

Woodland Hilltop

  • The Milky Way runs up a starry night sky above dark silhouettes of oaks and pines, with a faint pale glow and a few small lights along the horizon.

The Milky Way over the oaks and pines on the hilltop.

  • An orange band of first light lies along the horizon above forested foothills, framed by a dark oak on the left and pines on the right, with low shrubs in the foreground.

First light over the foothills from the hilltop, the next morning.

On a clear night at Woodland Hilltop Arbory, around 9 pm on September 29, the Milky Way stood over the oaks and pines on the hilltop, with only a faint glow and a few lights along the horizon.

Just after 7 the next morning, a band of orange light lay along the horizon above the forested foothills.
